Climate Change
Woodlands are an essential factor in controlling our climate globally and locally. Timber provides a sink for greenhouse gases, while the leaves of the trees are busy photosynthesising and regulating the amount of Carbon Dioxide in the atmosphere. Evapotranspiration regulates the amount of water in the atmosphere, affecting local weather that supports the woodland itself, as well as other habitats and agricultural land.
